It was nearly midnight as Jason Everton stood surveying the room, staring at the people who occupied it. It wasn't as busy as it normally was on a Friday night here at the Rex Club, but then the night was still young, especially for the college crowd. Unfortunately, Jason was on the wrong side of the bar. As these things tended to go, he was stuck working tonight, pouring drinks and exchanging rather amusing small talk with the patrons who were growing increasingly inebriated by the minute. He couldn't complain though; There were definitely much more boring jobs he could have taken for his final year at the Sorbonne. At least here he was able to meet interesting people, attractive women, and it helped what he liked to refer to as his "side business". It was amazing the things people would do when they were looking for a good time. He himself chose not to use the products he sold, though there had been a few, albeit rare, occasions when he had and they didn't always end up well. But he didn't want to think about that.
More people seemed to be drifting in, some already intoxicated before they even entered the door while others were clearly just getting started. "Another Rum and Coke." Jason heard from a few feet away, shaking him out of his momentary reverie. He grinned, looking over his shoulder at one of his regular Friday night customers. "Coming right up.
" The drink was made quickly, being as it was one of the most simple concoctions the bar offered. It seemed as though all at once people were ordering more drinks, keeping him busy for a good half hour before he could stop for a moment. More than anything, he wanted to a shot but ironically enough, drinking on the job was expressly prohibited. Even worse, one of the higher up managers was on shift with him tonight so he couldn't even sneak just a sip. Spotting a familiar face surfacing through the crowd, he grinned. The party had officially arrived, which meant that his shift was nearly over...assuming they didn't need him to stay late, which he had been doing quite a bit lately. As it was, the bar was a bit understaffed and though he enjoyed the paycheck, he enjoyed his party time more. A quick glance at his watch proved him nearly right; Another hour and he would be a free man. His friend was early but it was also more than likely that it was so he could make some new lady friends. If only he had something to help make the hour go by faster...[/blockquote][/blockquote]

For Lola Bellarosa, tonight was not unlike any other. She had been dolled up, her make up popping out a bit and the tight black dress hugging her voluptuous frame. The best part about the dress was that it had come free. For Lola, being a model had its perks. Though she primarily modeled lingerie, that didn't stop designers from sending her items from their newest collections to wear out and about. If they could get someone to see their work on a person of interest, then good could be made on the rest of the collection. That was where Lola came in. They sent her things and she wore them to places like the Rex Club with tall heels and eye catching makeup. Why not? She had the means and was in the right mood to possibly flirt a bit at the bar or mingle on the dance floor. Whatever the case, she could get it taken care of tonight.
As the cab pulled up to familiar vicinity, a smile crept on to the young woman's face. She didn't care that she had come alone, she was still ready for a night of entertainment. No doubt she would find it here like she had so many times before. The cab came to a stop and Lola already had his payment ready. She handed him the currency and told him to keep the change, slowly existing the vehicle. As she did, she caught the chill of the night air on her skin and goosebumps raised along her long arms and legs. A shiver traveled its way up her spine as she let her heels click along the sidewalk the last few steps to the club's entrance. Before long she was safely hidden behind the club's walls and eligible for a good time. Her first stop, well, was at the door. As soon a she entered she paused, letting her chocolate eyes scan the area. She wasn't sure if she felt like being closer to the music or the booze. Both would fill her system tonight though.
However, her eye landed on a piece of eye candy serving up drinks at the bar. Naturally for the hopeless romantic, this would be her starting place. Even if she didn't have anything to drink quite yet. Slowly, Lola made her way towards the bar. It was a bit crowded but she easily snagged a stool near where he was serving most of the drinks. She crossed her long legs and rested her chin on her hands, watching him work quickly to fill the orders. Sooner or later, he might ask for her order and then she would let things flow as they were meant to. Until then, she simply basked in the night club atmosphere.

As each minute passed, Jason could feel himself growing a little more anxious. He wasn't quite counting down the minutes, as he knew there was a chance he would be here much later than he wanted to be, but his glance continually made its way to the Rolex on his wrist. He enjoyed his job, but he'd much rather be out having fun and partying it up! There were some nights he swore that being stuck here was worse than being at another job, because he could see the party but he couldn't join it. Yet again, there were nights he thought the exact opposite for the same reason. He sighed softly as he quickly filled a drink order, his eyes scanning the room for customers in need of a refill.
Leaning against the bar, he smirked as he joked around with one of the frequent patrons who was a bit older than most of the people in the Rex Club tonight. It wasn't uncommon to see older guys coming in here trying to pick up the college aged females, nor was it odd to see older women flirting with the younger men; Sometimes it seemed like a free-for-all. But it was just one of the many things he loved about going to school here. Shortly after Jason spotted his friend, signaling an hour left to his shift, something completely different caught his eye. He hadn't seen her walk in the bar, but he had noticed her almost immediately as she took a seat at the bar. Of course, he wasn't the only one; Several men had gotten up, hoping she would take their seat and give them the opportunity to score tonight. He couldn't blame them, either. This girl was dressed to kill, her dress looking as though it was painted onto her curvaceous frame, with an attractive face to top it all off. This was definitely one of those times when his job came in handy...
He quickly filled a few more orders before he headed her way. "I hear it's dangerous for a woman to be out alone these days.
" He said, making a bit of small talk. It was obvious that she was still college-aged, as were most of the people there tonight, and it was all over the school that there was a murderer out there. Some said it was a psycho recreating some movie, others said they were targeting students, and some believed it was all a publicity stunt for the college. Either way, it had been stated multiple times that there was "safety in numbers" and that women in particular should not travel alone." What can I get for ya?" he asked, leaning across the bar toward her with a flirty smile on his face. The music wasn't always easy to hear over, and though he normally shouted over it, Jason definitely did not mind getting in a little bit closer this time. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lola found a smirk rising to her red painted lips as the bar tender made his way towards her. "I hear it's dangerous for women to be out alone these days."
he said, starting off with a bit of small talk before taking her drink order. Lola chose her words carefully and thought of her order. Of course it was no secret about the killings that had been going and honestly, when they started up she was terrified. But of course, who wouldn't have been. some crazy on the lose snatching the lives of innocent people for reasons unknown? It was something straight out of a horror movie. She figured no one was safe. But... she had obviously left those thoughts behind tonight. Now Lola was a bit afraid again, knowing that she really was mostly alone aside from the cab ride back to campus. Even then she had to walk across campus to her dorm alone. She sighed a bit and let her brown eyes fall back to the handsome tender. "I've heard that too, but I guess it must have slipped my mind when I left. Not sure what I'll do now that I've remembered. Would you mind if I just had a water for now?" she had a slight accent to her voice, though its origin was a bit indistinguishable. Even Lola couldn't tell exactly what type of accent her voice wore, but she figured it was a mixture of a few countries that she had lived in all before the age of ten. She laughed lightly and turned her gaze to the club. It certainly was popular tonight, though she supposed everyone there had followed the "travel in groups" advisement, unlike herself. However, the thought occurred to her, if she played her cards right then Lola might be able to find herself a handsome dark haired escort. After all, the bar tender didn't look too much older than herself. Perhaps he went to Sorbonne like her. Anything was possible. However, one thing Lola didn't think possible was for there to be more people at the bar than already was. However, she was wrong and it made her giggle to see the amount of gentlemen who had gathered around to try and catch her attention. Even a few who quickly offered her a free drink were only to be turned down when she explained that the water she had ordered was already free. She felt a bit conceited for thinking it but she knew the bars popularity would decrease if she left and wherever she did go, the popularity in that spot would increase. But she wasn't conceited. Just logical and knowledgeable. Turning her attention back to the bar, Lola waited patiently for her drink to arrive. Well, she supposed that as long as she was immersed beneath the multi-colored lights and thumping music, then she was alright. No serial killers lurking in the shadows she hoped and if there were, well at least whoever died would have died partying and at least there was no more entertaining death than that.
