THE RULES

welcome to the fashion and current mystery capital of the world through airline: ASHES & WINE. while a part of this role-play community, the staff requires cooperation and for one to follow the rules and guidelines set forth in this post. obey these rules to stay on our good side as well as a part of this site. however, if one feels the need to disregard them they will be awarded with a kind warning. a second offence will result in suspension. each time a rule is broken, the suspension will increase, until a complete ban is issued.

RESPECT & CONSIDERATION.
- Complain and be complained about. As admin, we get enough complaints to last a lifetime and outlive the number of seconds in our life. Instead of doing these petty things in the cbox or a pm to us, write a thread for it in ooc, and provide a nice argument, while you remember proper etiquette and diction.
- Do not, do not…argue with the staff. They were chosen for a reason and what they say is basically law in this fictional world of ours. However, if you do believe a moderator is being unfair you may pm the problem to Macy, and I will deliberate about it.
- Be cordial and mannerly as well as aware of everyone else on this site. Do not make your character the absolute epitome of perfection or depression. Nor, engage a character that does not belong to you in some twisted plot that they do not know about, just because they are an acquaintance of your own. It’s the epitome of idiocy, and will get you in trouble.
- If anything dramatic of drastic is going to happen—then contact the main admin with a full detailed outline of the plot. This includes but is not limited to: pregnancies, rapes, deaths, car accidents, sex changes, and surgeries. The site belongs to Macy, and ‘surprises’ are not welcomed in this case at all, so let them know.
APPLYING & CLAIMS.
- Your application must be accepted/approved by an administrator before you are allowed to post in all claims. Moderators are there simply to look over your application to see what little things they can find that an admin will deny your app for.
- Note that the youngest your character can be is eighteen. If you want some example ages of characters and what grade they would be in then: Professors-27 & up, Seniors-21 to 22, Juniors-20 to 21, Sophomores-19 to 20, Freshmen-18 to 19. So keep those in mind when you are picking celebrities and so on. Also, know that we may pend your application due to too many people applying as a young age. We will not be keeping a roster for age groups though, so simply look around the site and maybe use the real age of your celeb.
- For your display name, make sure there aren’t any capitals. We want it to be extremely uniform looking in this respect. First and last name only, all capitals. Do not add any nicknames or middle names, it doesn’t make things look in accordance to everyone else.
- An approved application and posts in all claims both are required before you are allowed to role-play. Do not email/pm/contact the staff in any way to ask to look at your app. It will be done in 24 hours max
- Do not spam the cbox about the length of time it is taking to have your application processed. If we notice this, your application may and most likely will be deleted, as right off the bat you are not following these rules.
CHARACTERS & CELEBRITIES.
- We request that you have your play-by be an actual celebrity as well (and of appropriate ages). No regular people from MySpace, Photobucket, Flickr, Deviantart, or anything like that. Remember to consider what type of rp this is. I doubt any 16 year old like Miley Cyrus would be in their senior year of university.
- For starters everyone is only allowed to have four characters. All these characters may not be female, in fact it would be preferred if you had two of each rather than four boys or four girls. However, due to the fact that usually girls start to overflow on sites, we will allow one to have the combination of four boys or three girls and one.
- Only one character is allowed per account. You can have as many characters as you want (keeping in mind the rules we may set for at the moment) as long as you make a separate account for each of them, and are equally as active for them all. Keep it even, and keep in mind the ratio of 1:1 when choosing genders—though to the staff, at times this does not apply.
- We do expect you to use originality here both in your character names and their histories. Characters cannot have the same name as their celebrity’s or roles they may have played in the past. Such as naming a character Willy Wonka and having his celeb be Johnny Depp. Originality is key dear children.
POSTING & REPLYING.
- Please know this is an intermediate-advanced role-playing forum, meaning your posts should be up to par. We do not want broken sentences and we require a minimum of 300 words per post (OOC not included). One-liners are a disgrace to this site and if any of the staff or dedicated members see them, that post will be deleted and that person will have tons of bad karma, literally. Be literate and be well rounded in what you post. Only in the out of character section like in the games or even the aim threads are one liners allowed.
- Do not control a character that doesn’t belong to you. Sure, if someone is going to be gone for a long time and they ask you to take over that character for a while, then go ahead. But otherwise…It’s so plain and simple, that if you get it wrong, then this rule can permanently ban you from the site.
- One of the most important aspects of role-playing here is to remain realistic. No one here is a psychic, has superpowers, or can speak with the dead. It’s utterly ridiculous if you even try to put something like that in your application. No vampires or werewolves either—we’re not Twilight, guys.
IMAGES & GRAPHICS.
- Make sure your signatures as well as any pictures you post do not stretch the board. Not only is it annoying, but it also looks terribly…ugly, to be honest. A size of 650x250 is good, give or take a few. Height doesn’t matter so much as length, just don’t make the image ridiculously tall. Your signature will be removed if it doesn’t follow the rules.
- All accounts are required to have an avatar of their character at the time of applying. It just makes things look nice, and we want them to look nice, right?
- DO NOT steal any graphics from this site or any other sites. Hot linking is not tolerated and can result in someone being completely banned from the site.
ACTIVITY & AWARDS.
- We will have various forms of crazy activity checks and little things like that. Make sure to be there for them, or notify us in the absence board. If you are unable to sign up for two of them in a row you will be deleted. Pm’s on occasion will be sent out notifying you about these, but emails will not, so make sure to check in with us.
- There will be an award for activity so make sure that you’re not simply signing in or joining the IC chat, but also posting persistently as well and with a variety of other characters and people.
- Refrain from nagging your role-play partners. If the person you're role-playing with hasn't replied to your post, be understanding and give them time. Muse can be lost just as easily as it can be gained. You can send a friendly little reminder through PM if you haven't heard from them in at least a week, but please, no more than that. We do not want constant reminding happening through the cbox or snide remarks in their direction.
- New accounts will be deleted after one week so we can keep better tabs on who is active or not. So, we do not want people to join and leave within a week without notifying us, it is simply not right. Thus, if that is going to be the case make sure to let us know beforehand.
ABSENCES & CHECKS.
- If you are going to be away for any length of time, please modify your characters name to include (away), and preferably include your return date as well. We will allow your characters to be exempt from ONE activity check, but since we do not want this to become a regular occurrence, it will have to be a very good reason that you do not check in for us to leave your account up. Failure to notify us through these means cannot guarantee one to not be accidentally deleted.
- If you will be gone for a long period of time please post in the ‘calling in sick’ board, so the admin/staff know. The passwordtopostanapplicationis: taylorrockscountry. Random? Why yes…;]We may have an activity check or something that calls for everyone to be somewhat active, and you could be deleted unless that thread is there. Once you return, simply delete the thread and you’re good to go.
PLAGIARISM & COPYING.
- Plagiarism in any form will result in the deletion of your account and a permanent ban on your IP address. No warning will be given. This site is completely original and we do not want anyone to steal any bit from this. Also, if we find you have stolen something from another site and brought it here such as an application, you will also be penalized.
AND LASTLY.
- We don’t want any unneeded out of character drama. Leave that for your life and private convos outside of this role-playing community. Have fun and learn that being crazy is not only gold…but silver too. And it’s just plain awesome. Be in awe. We are in awe. That’s for sure.
